周忠衛

周忠衛博士,現任中山大學醫學院副教授,碩士生導師。2002年和2005年先后于蘭州大學生命科學學院獲本科和碩士學位;于2013年取得德國耶拿大學博士學位,師從歐洲科學院院士Zhao-Qi Wang教授。2005年至2008年,在中國科學院遺傳與發育生物學研究所從事研究實習員工作;博士畢業后,在德國萊布尼茲研究院衰老研究所從事博士后工作。2017年獲聘中山大學“百人計劃”引進人才,醫學院獨立課題組組長(PI)、學術帶頭人。

細胞DNA時刻面臨由內源和外部因素引發的損傷。DNA損傷激活DNA損傷應答信號通路(DNA damage response pathway,DDR)。DDR通路調控包括細胞周期、損傷修復、基因轉錄、凋亡或自噬等過程,以維持基因組穩定性、組織穩態并防止疾病如癌癥的發生。DDR通路的缺陷或關鍵分子的突變,引發各種染色體不穩定性綜合癥。腫瘤易感、免疫缺陷、神經缺陷(包括小頭癥和神經退行性病變)及早衰是這些綜合癥的主要癥狀。目前主要研究DNA損傷應答分子在調控神經發育及關聯疾病的作用機理。相關研究成果已發表在Nature Cell Biology, Cell Stem Cell, Cell Research, Molecular Cell, Nature Communications, EMBO J, Cell Report, PLOS Genetics, DNA Repair等多種國際學術雜志和期刊上。發表的科研論文影響因子累計超過130分。

研究的主要內容包括1)神經干細胞命運決定與小頭癥(Microcephaly) 的致病機理;2)DNA損傷修復缺陷與神經退行性病變;3)DNA損傷累積在癌癥發生和衰老中的作用機制。
